Weekly Photo Challenge - Tree

The more people I talk to, I am finding that there are quite a few people looking at my blog! We are almost at 1,000 visits! (yeah a good chunk of them are mine but still...)
I would love to continue with the theme "Daily Photo Challenge", however as you can see most of the participants are Nettie and me. In order to get more participants I am going to switch the challenge to a Weekly Photo Challenge instead. This longer time period will allow EVERYONE to participate and submit as many photos you would like that pertains to each challenge.
Continue to email your photos to tophatutah@gmail.com . If you aren't sure on how to resize your photos, go ahead and email them to me as is and I will handle that for you. I'm guessing that 90% of you own a digital camera and would love to do more, well here's your chance!
Also amidst the change, I will be developing a brand new fancy website built by yours truly, which will be a bit more user friendly, have links to photo tips, slideshows, archives and also photography news on what's new and popular so you can stay up to date when it comes time for you to make your purchases.

Although it's still winter around most of the county and parts of the world, trees can still be wonderful objects for photography! You have until Monday, March 15th to send in your photos of "Tree". United States in Review.....Do We Still Have Time? Pray For It!

Alright. I have been busy keeping my head from exploding from everything that is going on with our Country. It seems that we are being fed so many things all at once so we just give up and say "oh well, what happens will happen". Do we still have a chance to turn things around? I'm not sure. Watch the videos below and judge for yourself. After watching and reading about what's going on...ask yourself what you can do to help others wake up! Remember to pray and involve God in every decision. We need to make Him a larger part of our Country. That is how it was founded and why we are the greatest country on the Earth today I believe. I have been following the news on both sides of the table lately and thought that I was informed enough to accept whatever is to happen with our country. I was directed to listen to this talk by a good friend of mine. President Ezra Taft Benson from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints speaks very frank with us about what is happening. Take note that this talk was more than 40 years ago! If things were getting bad back then, imagine what they are like right now in our country! We are losing this spiritual battle against Satan. Our inspired Constitution isn't being changed, it's being destroyed and replaced by what is the most evil plan our Earth has seen I believe. We must stand up! We must be peaceful protestors like Martin Luther King Jr. and all of the millions of untold heros that have saved our country in the past. I really didn't like to learn about it because it was so boring...boy was I wrong! Who Washes Their Hands???

For some odd reason I keep tab on everyone that chooses wether or not to wash their hands. In particular, I keep tabs on those that work in my same building and use the same bathroom. It's very interesting what I found. People are funny creatures; we go along with life (usually whatever the media tells us is good) and don't like change unless it's more convenient for us.

Where I work we have what you might call "old fashioned" equipment. It's still great condition, however lacks the modern "conveniences" of automatic everything. The only thing automatic about it are the standard urinals (good thing too). When I got the job working in this building, every time I would go to the bathroom (generally 2-3 times per day) I would keep tabs on everyone that goes in and out during the time I was in there because I was interested to see how many people really washed their hands. I remember faces to avoid while in public if they chose not to wash with soap. Not to get into dirty details but...almost every guy that goes #2 washes their hands with water, but no soap! YUK! I found that about 1/4 guys washed their hands, and in a day's work only 1/4 of those that washed their hands did so using soap. Even more frightening, I was the ONLY one that did so with soap and for at least 20 seconds while thoroughly scrubbing!

As soon as the word spread round that the H1N1 "Swine" Flu was spreading around about 95% of the guys washed with water (at least) and each day more and more would use soap. It's unfortunate that a "scare" like that would cause people to be more conscious about washing their hands. Now that the "Swine Scare" has died down quite a bit, things are back to normal. I have gotten to the point that I flush the toilet with my foot, turn on/off the sink with my knuckle & kick open the door (softly) to avoid all the grossness on the handles. I hope that you can pay more attention to peoples habits that might affect your health. If you are one that doesn't wash their hands with soap after using the bathroom...please be considerate of others. That's all for now. Poor Unfortunate Soul - Sotomayor vs. Ursula

After reading those alarming similarities I get the willies! How much closer can they get? Were they separated at birth? Socialize Me Cap'n!

Ever since I heard about these two ridiculous stories in the news I had to combine the two to create a piece of comedy that show's my feelings about the larger subject at hand with a hint of the smaller story as a base. The first insignificant story is about a group in California (go figure) that tried to sue the manufactures of Cap'n Crunch Berries because of their deceiving advertising. These people actually thought that there was an actual fruit called Crunch Berries and they ate them for their nutritional value for a number of years to find out that they are actually filled with high fructose sugars! I have really been thinking lately about events that are happening all around me in the world and close to home. I want this blog to be about US as friends and family to be able to discuss topics that will strengthen the family, the individual and our great Nation, The United States of America. Over the past years of having a family of my own I have had a difficult time focusing on my family issues while trying to fix others and I was seeing my family struggle. I almost had a breakdown because I was literally sick of trying to juggle these problems and trying to fix everything at once so I decided to quit and focus solely on my family. As time passed I felt my talents and abilities to help others go to waste. It was given me to realize my lot in life, a mediator to any and all who need what I have to offer. In fairness to my family I have created this blog to be able to spend more time with them while offering my talents and abilities to you. This blog will remain public for anyone who wishes to follow.
